WASHINGTON, D.C. -The Managing Directors of Engleman Fallon, PLLC, headquartered in Washington, are pleased to announce, effective January 1, 2024, attorney Christina R. Switzer has accepted the law firm’s invitation to join the partnership.

Ms. Switzer joined Engleman Fallon soon after the law firm’s opening in 2018, following stints at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Public Utility Commission of Texas.  At FERC, Ms. Switzer worked on, among other matters, competitive transmission and cost allocation issues and FERC market-based rates.  At the Public Utility Commission of Texas, Ms. Switzer litigated electric rate cases, including cost-of-service ratemaking for utilities located outside of ERCOT and reviewed applications for certificates of public convenience and necessity.

Since joining Engleman Fallon, she has focused on using competition to lower ratepayer costs from new regional transmission projects and litigated the interconnection and other regulatory disputes that arise between competitive suppliers, load, and interstate transmission providers.  She provides comprehensive regulatory advice on the host of complex FERC rules to which competitive transmission, generation suppliers, and load must comply, including transmission formula rates and FERC approval of mergers and acquisitions.  Her clients include customers seeking interconnection to the interstate transmission grid and load interacting with a franchised utility.

Managing Director Michael Engleman said, “Because Christina is such a big part of the Firm’s success story and continued growth, Bob Fallon and I could not be happier that she has accepted our invitation to join the partnership.  We believe Engleman Fallon, with its competitive rate structure and our expertise in a wide variety of energy matters, will be the perfect place for Christina to continue growing her practice both at FERC and the Public Utility Commission of Texas.”

A native of Texas and a member of the Texas and District of Columbia bar associations, Ms. Switzer will continue to reside in the firm’s Austin office.  She can be reached at cswitzer@efenergylaw.com, 202 464-1334.
